BMW's first fully electric Gran Coupé model is getting ready to meet with BMW i4 enthusiasts. Details are here.

The technical details of BMW's first all-electric Gran Coupé model, the BMW i4, which combines dynamic driving characteristics with a modern, elegant and sporty design, have been announced. Combining its spacious and useful interior with zero emissions, the BMW i4 will be offered to enthusiasts in two different versions, eDrive40 and M50, in the first place. The most powerful version, the BMW i4 M50, will also be the brand's first all-electric M Performance car.

High Range, Performance and Emission-Free Driving Pleasure

Coming with two different alternatives, the BMW i4 will first be offered to its users in eDrive40 and M50 versions. With rear-wheel drive driving pleasure, the BMW i4 eDrive40 produces 340 hp and 430 Nm of torque, and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds. According to WLTP norms, the BMW i4 eDrive40 can travel 590 km with a full charge. BMW's first all-electric M car, the BMW i4 M50, produces 544 hp and 795 Nm of torque thanks to two electric motors located on both the front and rear axles. The BMW i4 M50, which can accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.9 seconds, offers a range of 510 km with a full charge according to WLTP norms.

Advanced Battery Technology with Fifth Generation eDrive

Fifth generation eDrive technology helps the BMW i4 to offer its users high range and performance together. In addition, the all-wheel drive technology of the fifth generation eDrive will be used for the first time in the BMW i4. The battery specially designed for the BMW i4 consists of four modules with 72 cells and three modules with 12 cells. With the fifth generation eDrive technology and the Combined Charging Unit (CCU), the BMW i4 will enable the use of multiple and different types of charging stations.

The Integrated control unit in the BMW i4 will allow the car to be charged quickly. Thus, the empty battery of the BMW i4 can be fully charged in less than 8.5 hours with AC charging. The BMW i4 will offer a range of approximately 164 km with a 10-minute charge at the DC charging station.

Smooth Aerodynamic Design

Standing out with its aerodynamic and flexible design, the BMW i4 has a length of 4783 mm, a width of 1852 mm, a height of 1448 mm and a wheelbase of 2856 mm. The luggage volume of 470 liters can also be expanded to 1290 liters. The model's hidden door handles, smooth shaped surfaces, air vents in the front side panels and lightweight design wheels contribute to the aerodynamics and range of the BMW i4. Coming with LED headlights as standard, the BMW i4 can be ordered with optional BMW Selective Beam, BMW Laserlight and Adaptive LED Headlights.

Intelligent Driving and Information Systems

The new BMW iDrive system allows the BMW Curved Display and the advanced BMW Head-Up Display to work in precise harmony. Combining a 12.3-inch information display and a 14.9-inch control display, the BMW Curved Display consists of a single glass surface facing the driver. The driver will be able to adapt the type and amount of content shown on the Head-Up Display at any time to suit their personal preferences or current traffic situation. In addition, additional features will come for the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant in the BMW i4 with the new generation BMW iDrive.
