Volvo Trucks introduced the new Volvo FH with a newly designed cabin, innovative safety features and driver-oriented functions.

The new Volvo FH contributes to the transportation process with its comfort and exclusive equipment. Roger Alm said, “We have taken an important step towards helping drivers and fleets with this new truck, which prioritizes the efficiency and comfort of the professional driver.” said.

Interior that provides an efficient working environment for drivers

With its renewed interior design, the new Volvo FH clearly demonstrates the care shown to drivers. Featuring an all-digital, 12-inch high-resolution instrument cluster at the center of the workspaces, the new Volvo FH also boasts a modern dash with fixed cup holders, open storage and motion-sensor-controlled lighting. The instrument cluster allows the driver to choose between four different screen views depending on the driving situation and the information they prefer to display.

It can also provide infotainment, navigation assistance, driving information and camera monitoring with an optional 9-inch side multimedia screen. The easy-to-access side display allows the driver to interact in multiple ways, with buttons on the steering wheel, voice command or a direct touchscreen control panel.

In addition, moving around inside the cabin of the new Volvo FH is now even easier, with the new ergonomically designed and slimmer I-Shift gear lever. However, the new Volvo FH features an intelligent dual-battery system that ensures that power is kept in reserve to start the engine for drivers who need much higher battery capacity. The interior also offers a variety of customizations, including new fabrics and colors, and different design options.

Advanced design and smart technologies

The new exterior design of the new Volvo FH stands out with Volvo's signature V-shaped headlights, according to the brand's characteristic lines. In addition, the direction indicators were moved to the door, giving the truck both an advanced aerodynamic design and a confident look. In addition, the wiper panel is much thinner. On the other hand, the enlarged Volvo logo makes the new Volvo FH easy to spot, even from afar.

Industry-leading security features

Thanks to the headlight system developed in the New Volvo FH, the world's first heavy commercial truck with adaptive high beams, when the truck is approaching oncoming traffic or another vehicle from behind, it automatically disables selected sections of the LED high beam, increasing safety for all drivers. High beam is automatically adjusted when the camera and radar detect other vehicles or when the camera detects changes in the amount of light around the truck.

Other safety-enhancing features of the new Volvo FH include hill descent cruise control, which adjusts the maximum speed to prevent unwanted acceleration when going downhill, and improved Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), which operates at all speeds, including zero km/h.

The Electronically Controlled Braking System (EBS), a prerequisite for safety features such as Collision Warning with Emergency Brake and Electronic Stability Control, is now standard on the new Volvo FH. Volvo Dynamic Steering is also available as an option, along with the Lane Keeping Assist and Stability Assist safety systems.

In the new Volvo FH, driving safety is further improved with the detection of lane change restrictions, road type and speed limits thanks to the road sign recognition system. Visibility for the side of the truck is further improved with the addition of the passenger side corner camera, which offers a complementary view on the side screen.

Improved fuel efficiency and productivity

Using a variety of chassis and chassis configurations, the new Volvo FH has been customized to suit a wide range of applications and deliver significant fuel and CO2 savings. For example, in long haul operations, the new Volvo FH with I-Save for Euro 6 combines a number of features with the new D13TC engine, allowing up to 7% fuel savings.

The new Volvo FH is also available with the I-Shift Dual Clutch transmission, which enables gear changes without power interruptions. The dual-clutch transmission provides extra benefits with smooth gear shifts, especially in demanding operations such as the transport of liquid goods.

Efficiency, another key customer priority, is further enhanced in the new Volvo FH, with more front axle load capacity as well as idler and pusher axles with improved steering angles to reduce tire wear and increase maneuverability. The truck is also available with Tandem Axle Lift, which raises the rear axle when the vehicle is not loaded and reduces fuel consumption.
