Renault engineers will hit the road this summer with 30 pre-production Megane E-Tech Electric models.

Megane eVision, which was shown at Renault eWays events, which is an important milestone on the road to zero emissions, heralded Renault's first step towards electric vehicles in the C segment. With the car transformed from the concept to the Megane E-Tech Electric model, Renault strengthens its electric passenger car range consisting of the Twingo E-Tech Electric in the A segment and Zoe, the best seller in the B segment.

The completely new Megane E-Tech Electric, produced on the CMF-EV platform, has a 160kw (217hp) electric motor and a 60kwh battery pack that provides a driving range of up to 450 km according to WLTP data. Also called the MeganE (pronounced "megan e"), the car will be unveiled in its final silhouette, while Renault engineers will drive 30 pre-production cars on the roads this summer.

All pre-production cars produced at the Douai plant will feature a special Renault Design pattern. Consisting of the lines of the new and iconic Renault logo, this design creates a dazzling camouflage.
