German sports car giant Porsche presented its new feature to its customers. The feature to be used in 911 first defines the fingerprint of the car owner to the car. The cost of this equipment is 7.500 €.

Porsche announces the new customization program for 911, where fingerprints can be applied on the car. Thanks to the new painting technique developed by Porsche, high-quality elements such as individual fingerprints are allowed to be printed on the body parts of the sports car as part of the portfolio offered by the Exclusive Manufaktur department. This process, which can be applied to the hood for the start, will be released next month for customers in Germany. The price of this option is 7.500 €.

The working principle of the new technique, called direct printing, resembles an inkjet printer. For this process, Porsche installed a "technology cell" in the paint shop of the Zuffenhausen training center. A robot paints the unique design on the hood, following the sending of the biometric data requested by the customer. Then, protective varnish is applied and polishes to a very glossy finish before the part is attached. Customers who prefer this personalization method will be in direct contact with consultants who will explain every step from the presentation of the fingerprint to the completion of the project.

Alexander Fabig, Vice President of the Classic Department, spoke

Alexander Fabig, Deputy Head of Personalization and Classic, said: “The peculiarity is very important for Porsche customers. And no design can be more personal than your own fingerprint. Together with a leading brand and partners in Porsche personalization, Porsche developed the direct printing method in this direction. We are proud to have developed a completely new product based on new technologies. "
