The new Honda CR-V has been tested by EuroNCAP, an independent European crash testing agency.
The new CR-V, the safest and most streamlined vehicle in its class, received 5 stars from EuroNCAP thanks to its body structure and comprehensive safety technologies.
The CR-V's All-round Collision Safety AC design incorporates Honda's next-generation ACE (Advanced Compatibility Engineering) body structure. The CR-V has a structural network connected to distribute the collision energy more evenly. In the event of a collision, there are superior front, side and rear protection values that help reduce the forces transmitted to the passenger cell.
Hybrid model available for sale
The prototype model was officially announced the CR-V Hybrid, which was shown last year. Generally, the vehicle with common design and features is separated from the main model on the transmission and engine side. Carrying a 2.0-liter i-VTEC engine under its hood, the CR-V offers 184 horsepower and 315 Nm of torque thanks to itsdual electric motor.
On the transfer side of the model, Honda's advanced hybrid experience comes into play. Instead of the currently used CVT transmission, the brand produces a special gearbox with a fixed ratio,thus targeting maximum energy conversion. Note that the front-wheel drive version has a combined consumption of 5.3L/100 km and a 4-wheel drive version of 5.5L/100 km.
The Honda CR-V Hybrid, which has three different driving modes, including internal combustion, pure electric and hybrid, will be launched this month. The 7-seater version of the SUV model will be available in the showroom later this year.
