As SEAT Ibiza and Arona are moving along the assembly line at the brand's factory in Barcelona, their names are assembled through auxiliary robots.
SEAT successfully operates two unique auxiliary robots in the Martorell plant. The two robots responsible for mounting the names of Ibiza and Arona to the rear trunk lids ensure that there is no delay in the process and share the same working space with the factory personnel.
Two auxiliary robots, one on each side of the line, assemble two types of coats, while the robot on the left side of the car assembles the Ibiza or Arona name according to the model that comes along the line, and the right side places the FR emblem in the corresponding versions. Both robots have a mechanical hand to select different types of letters using suction cups, remove the protective paper on the back, apply the required pressure, place the letters in the vehicle and eject the protective paper in front to a garbage can.
The robots also have an artificial vision system that prevents deviations at various stages of the process. All this happens as the vehicle moves along the assembly line. Thanks to this innovation, this is done while the vehicles are on the move, so that the line does not have to be stopped. The robots can work at the same time as the assembly workers. Sharing the same business space, one of the features that allow collaboration robots to be separated from industrial robots, is equipped with many safety equipment to move more slowly or to ensure the safety of the people working around them all the time.

Together with two “cobots sağlayan that enable the placement of letters, and as an example of the transformation of the SEAT Martorell factory into a smart factory, the factory now has around 20 co-operative robots in the assembly area, which support the completion of on-line work, especially in ergonomically demanding workstations. The factory also has more than 2,000 industrial robots that are constantly in motion. All these innovations in the field of work take place with 2,000 vehicles per day or 8,000 workers of the factory, which produces vehicles every 30 seconds.
