In the prototype, called the hybrid FFV (flexible-fuel vehicle), ethanol produced from gasoline or sugar cane can be used according to the preference of the vehicle owner. This new fuel system is also supported by Toyota's proven hybrid system.



The Hybrid FFV prototype is Toyota's newest hybrid system offering high energy efficiency and greatly reducing CO2 emissions. Based on the Toyota Prius model for the Hybrid FFV, which is a big contributor to the reduction of CO2 emissions by using 100 percent recycled ethanol fuel.

Toyota has taken an important step towards the goal of reducing CO2 emissions by 90 percent by 2050 with the development of Hybrid FFV. With Hybrid FFV's presentation to the market, data collection will begin on actual road conditions and the efficiency, stability and performance of the system will be further improved.
