LG Electronics' (LG) next-generation In-Car Infotainment system will launch in 2022 with the new Renault Mégane E-TECH Electric.

The new vehicle, equipped with LG's advanced IVI system, was recently showcased at the world's largest mobility conference, IAA MOBILITY 2021, held in Munich, Germany, and garnered great praise.

The software that powers the IVI system was developed by LG in partnership with Renault and is based on Google Android Automotive. The software is also recognized by LG as the first to use the 'Scaled Agile Framework' (SAFe), a set of principles and processes that will help large organizations adopt agile methodologies to develop and deliver high-quality products and services faster. This software works independently of the vehicle's hardware to offer different convenience features such as the ability to update the operating system wirelessly and remotely check the vehicle charging status.

Moreover, LG's Android-based IVI system is the first Android 10-based system to be certified by Google Automotive Services (GAS). The platform offers smart infotainment services and easy access to a variety of Google apps, including Google Assistant, Google Maps and Google Play via the Central Information Display (CID). With its sleek, intuitive Human Machine Interface (HMI) and user experience focus, the system leverages LG's growing capabilities as a vehicle solutions provider to meet the diverse needs of today's drivers and make automobile travel more enjoyable.
