Volvo Trucks is introducing a new generation truck series that focuses on safety and efficiency.

The growing demand for transport is putting pressure on the availability of skilled drivers around the world. Volvo Trucks focuses on developing new trucks that are safer, more efficient and more attractive for qualified drivers.

The truck models in Volvo Trucks' product range are available in many different cab models and can be optimized for a wide variety of applications. In regional transport trucks, the cabin usually acts as a mobile office, while construction trucks allow robust and practical work. Therefore; Visibility, comfort, ergonomics, noise level, maneuverability and safety are key focal points when developing all new truck models. The exterior design of the truck is also improved to reflect the characteristics of the new trucks.

Volvo FM and Volvo FMX offer more space and improved visibility with new cab

The new Volvo FM and Volvo FMX offer many of the same dashboard functions found in all Volvo models, as well as a brand new cabin. In the new Volvo FM and Volvo FMX models, their interior volume has been increased by one cubic meter to provide better comfort and more working space. However, thanks to larger windows, lowered door line and new mirrors, the quality of vision improves. The steering wheel has a tilting column function that allows the driving position to be adjusted largely individually. The lower bed in the sleeper cab is higher than the previous one. This provides more comfort for users and creates additional storage space under the bed. The day cabin features a new 40-liter storage compartment with interior lighting on the rear wall. Thanks to the reinforced insulation that helps prevent cold, heat and noise disturbance, cabin comfort is further increased, while the sensor-controlled climate unit with carbon filter ensures good air quality in all conditions.

All models are equipped with a new driver interface

All models feature a completely new information and communication interface that aims to make different functions easier to review and manage, thus causing less stress and distraction. In addition, the models feature a 12-inch fully digital display that makes it easy for the driver to select the information they need at any time. In addition, there is an easily accessible side multimedia screen for the driver, an additional 9-inch side screen that offers navigation, transport information and camera monitoring. Functions can be controlled via buttons on the steering wheel, voice control, or via the touchscreen and display control panel.

Security systems developed to help prevent accidents

In the Volvo FH and Volvo FH16, safety is enhanced by functions such as adaptive high beams. This makes Volvo Trucks the first truck manufacturer to launch this solution. The system improves safety for all vehicles using highways by automatically deactivating selected parts of the LED high beam as the truck approaches oncoming traffic or another vehicle from behind.

In addition, driving of the vehicle is facilitated by the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) developed for low speeds up to 0 km / h and the downhill cruise control that automatically activates the service brakes when extra braking power is required to maintain downhill speed. Electronically Controlled Braking System (EBS), a prerequisite for safety features such as Collision Warning with Emergency Brake Assist and Electronic Stability Control, is now standard on the new truck. Volvo Dynamic Steering is available as an option, along with Lane Keeping Assist and Stability Assist safety systems. Road sign recognition system; It detects road traffic signs such as overtaking restrictions, road type and speed limits and displays them on the dashboard. Visibility can be further improved by the addition of a passenger corner camera that offers a complementary view on the side screen for the side of the truck.
