The 17th leg of the Formula 1 World Championship was won by the Japanese Grand Prix, Mercedes' Finnish driver Valtteri Bottas. At the end of an exciting race of 52 laps at the 5,807-meter International Suzuka Circuit in Mie, Japan, the Mercedes team was able to secure the championship. With this success, the team won its sixth consecutive title.

Bottas, who started the race from the 3rd place, took the lead by turning the Ferrari driver Sebastian Vettel into a bad start. The pilot, who maintained his first position throughout the race, achieved the podium peak for the third time in the same season.
